The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua players are enjoying their stay in New Zealand, where they have taken part in a range of team-building activities, including cooking their own meals, making pizza, and participating in river paintball.

Swire Shipping Fijian Drua head coach Glen Jackson says it has been a tragic week for Mt Maunganui and extended his condolences to the people and families who lost their lives in the landslip.

He added that the connection the players have built with the local community has been amazing.

Jackson says the team has trained hard at Te Puna, which was Eto’s former club, and is now putting the finishing touches to its preparations ahead of the Skipper Select XV match and their game against Moana.

He says the team is looking forward to the positive outcomes this camp will bring.

Jackson also noted that this is the first time a rugby team has stayed at the venue, and the players have thoroughly enjoyed their time.

He hopes more Super Rugby teams will follow in their footsteps.

The Drua will take on the Skipper Select XV at 4pm next Friday at Churchill Park, Lautoka.

Their first match of the Super Rugby Pacific season will be against Moana Pasifika at at 3.35pm on the 14th of this month, also at Churchill Park, Lautoka.
