Digital violence, which includes harassment, stalking, exploitation and intimidation, is real, harmful and demands urgent national attention.
The National Federation Party stressed this and pledged strong support for strengthened cybercrime laws that address gendered online abuse.
They say that there should be digital safety education in schools and public institutions, enhanced police and judicial training on online harassment and psychological support for survivors.
NFP expressed its solidarity with women and girls in Fiji and around the world on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
They noted that this year’s theme, “UNiTE to End Digital Violence against All Women and Girls,” highlights the growing threat of online abuse.
They further say that ending violence, whether offline or online, is a moral and political responsbility.
The party also reaffirms its commitment to championing laws, education, and leadership that ensure every woman in Fiji can live and speak without fear.
