The 43-year-old man who allegedly killed 16-year-old Salote Sikiti whith a cane knife in Naqali Village in Naitasiri has been ordered to get a psychiatric evaluation done.
Samuela Dasalusalu is charged with one count of murder.
Police had earlier said Dasalusalu, who is of unsound mind, allegedly struck Sakiti with a cane knife, causing her serious injuries, which resulted in her death.
They said she was returning from a shop when she was allegedly chased by Dasalusalu when the unfortunate incident occurred.
The matter has been adjourned to the 5th of January, next year.
