The Suva Magistrates Court has given the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions until the 19th of this month to consolidate the charges against suspended Police officers Alipate Matadigo, Sevuloni Lubi, Eroni Bati and Ratu Lote Leweivuna for their alleged involvement in the importation of 4.7kg of methamphetamine.
Matadigo appeared before Suva Magistrate Charles Ratakele this morning.
His counsel Kalisito Maisamoa did not object to the consolidation but raised concerns as the ODPP were earlier given 14 days to consolidate the charges.
Matadigo is charged with unlawfully transporting the drugs.
