Anare Vuli Cilicewa, who has been charged with the murder of his 28-year-old defacto parnter in October last year has been further remanded in custody.
Cilicewa appeared before Suva High Court Judge Pita Bulamainavalu this morning.
The State Counsel informed the court that they will be presenting 29 witnesses for this case and also rely on DNA report.
He also informed the court that there were witnesses in the house that saw the accused follow the victim to her room and they heard a glass broken.
He adds that DNA report shows that Cilicewa's DNA was on the left arm of the victim and clothing.
The Defence told the court that they are ready for trial but Cilicewa advised the court that his lawyer has not been meeting with him and he wants to represent himself.
The judge told him to meet with his lawyer for advice and has remanded him.
The case has been adjourned to the 3rd of February.
