45-year-old Jonasa Matakibau who allegedly stabbed a farmer, resulting in his death on Boxing Day in Batinivuriwai Settlement in Wainunu, Bua will have his bail hearing heard on the 13th of January.
Labasa High Court Judge Justice Lee James Burney has further remanded him in custody.
Matakibau is charged with one count of murder.
Police believe that the incident escalated into a brawl, during which the victim sustained a fatal stab wound to the chest.
