Auta Moceisuva, who previously served as the Deputy Commissioner of Corrections, has been appointed Acting Commissioner of Corrections.
Former Acting Fiji Corrections Service Commissioner Sevuloni Naucukidi is currently facing a charge of criminal intimidation after he allegedly threatened a member of his support staff in July this year.
While announcing the new acting appointment, Minister for Justice, Siromi Turaga says Moceisuva's appointment ensures continuity of leadership and the effective administration of the service.
He informed senior officers that President, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, has appointed new leadership within the Fiji Corrections Service, effective from today.
The Ministry also acknowledges the service and leadership of Naucukidi, who has been serving as the outgoing Commissioner of Corrections.
Naucukidi will now resume duties in his substantive position following this transition, and the Ministry thanks him for his contribution and commitment during his tenure.
The Ministry further calls on all Fiji Corrections Service officers to continue working together in the spirit of unity, professionalism, and service.
