Alleged Naqali murder case transferred to Nausori Court

Samuela Dasalusalu is charged with one count of murder.
The 43-year-old man who allegedly killed 16-year-old Salote Sikiti with a cane knife in Naqali Village in Naitasiri has had his case transferred to the Nausori Magistrates Court.

Dasalusalu appeared before Magistrate Josaia Waqaivolavola this morning.

His case will be called next Monday.

Police had earlier said Dasalusalu, who is of unsound mind, allegedly struck Sakiti with a cane knife, causing her serious injuries, which resulted in her death.

They said she was returning from a shop when she was allegedly chased by Dasalusalu when the unfortunate incident occurred.
