Action-packed Day 4 underway at Wairiki 7s

Fiji Bitter Wairiki 7s Carnival Tournament Director, Alipate Navuso says rugby fans can expect another thrilling day of competition today at the Wairiki Grounds in Taveuni.

Navuso says today's schedule is packed with high-intensity matches across all grades, with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals set to run throughout the day.

He says the action started at 8 this morning with the Under 21 Cup quarter-finals, followed by the Fiji Bitter Men’s Bowl quarter-finals, with the Fiji Bitter Main Cup quarter-finals at 9.36am.

Going through after the quarter finali in the Fiji Men's Bowl are Newtown Brothers, Somosomo Sharks, Y- is Kava Yavalea, and Nakawau. 

Women’s rugby will also take the field, with a key match scheduled for 10.36am.

Navuso says the morning matches will lead into the Under 21 Bowl semi-finals and the Fiji Bitter Men’s Shield semi-finals, before teams battle it out in the Under 21 Shield and Under 21 Plate semi-finals.

He says intensity will lift even further after midday, with the Fiji Bitter Men’s Bowl semi-finals at 12.24pm and the Under 21 Cup semi-finals at 12.48pm.

This will be followed by the Fiji Bitter Men’s Plate and Main Cup semi-finals.

The Tournament Director says all eyes will then turn to the finals from 2.06pm, with the Under 21 Shield, Men’s Shield, Under 21 Bowl, Men’s Bowl, Under 21 Plate, Men’s Plate, Under 21 Cup, Women’s rugby and the Fiji Bitter Main Cup all to be decided.

Navuso says the carnival will wrap up with the prize presentation ceremony after the Main Cup final at 3.42pm.
