The youth clubs of Wailevu and Nailou, in Vanua Levu were grateful to the Fijian Government for the fibreglass boat and engine given to them.

This assistance was handed over to the Clubs by the Minister for Youth and Sports Parveen Bala.

While handing over the assistance, the Minister says this will ease market accessibility for fishing businesses.

Bala says it will also assist in sustainable fishing practices and improve quality produce in the domestic market.

He says the handover speaks of the friendship and care between the Government and youths, and the boat will ensure that skilled fishermen of this community can be safe at sea and increase their catch.

Bala adds the Government will continue to empower youths, hence, the deployment of Assistant Youths Officers to serve and fulfil the needs of the youths in all districts with the main focus of reaching out to them and leaving no youth behind.
