Young traditional leaders to benefit from joint training program with RFMF

In pursuit of strengthening traditional governance, young traditional leaders will benefit from the joint training programme that will prepare them for the future.

Minister for iTaukei Affairs Culture, Heritage and Arts, Ifereimi Vasu met with the Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Force Major General Jone Kalouniwai to discuss the training of young traditional leaders in the areas of leadership.

The Minister proposed to the Commander for a joint training programme to prepare the sausauvou for future leadership. Vasu also outlined the shared vision of the solesolevaki framework within the iTaukei Institutions to economically empower iTaukei generations through wealth creation to alleviate poverty.

He adds that the iTaukei Ministry intend to continue cooperation and collaboration with other Ministries and stakeholders to transform iTaukei communities.

Major General Jone Kalouniwai thanked the Minister for the proposed training partnership and assured him that the RFMF is ready to assist.

He also acknowledged the work of the iTaukei Institutions and the direction they are taking.
