A mother of one, Adi Laite Naivalu Masitabua is looking forward to beginning her three-year journey toward a Bachelor's Degree in Land Management and Human Resources at the University of the South Pacific.

Adi Laite says she got pregnant at 17 while in Year 12, however, with the support of her family, she never gave up and continued her studies at A.D Patel College in Ba.

She says last year she returned to school in Week 7 of Term 1 and with the help of her teachers, she managed to catch up on her school work and successfully sat for the Year 13 external examination.

The 19-year-old will study under the Scholarships for Higher Education (Level 7 Degree) with Minimum Cut-Off Mark Scheme.

She aims to complete her degree and secure a better future for herself and her son.

Adi Laite also highlighted that without the support of her parents and teachers, she would not have been able to continue her studies as a Scholarship student.

She encourages young mothers to keep striving for the best, reminding them that no matter the challenges they face, it is not the end of the world.
