Police have confirmed that the woman whose body was found in a garage at a home in Bayview Heights on Friday night was murdered.

The 50-year-old security officer who was arrested in relation to the body find remains in police custody.

Police had earlier confirmed the incident occurred at a home belonging to a 52-year-old man.

They say the man was inside his house when he heard a commotion outside and found his 50-year-old security officer arguing with a woman standing outside the gate.

A call was made to the Nabua Police whereby they attended to the report and took the 50-year-old security officer into custody.
