A 36-year-old woman is currently being questioned at the CID Headquarters for allegedly spreading false information on social media about cases of COVID-19 registered at the Nausori Health Centre.

There is no confirmed case of COVID-19 in Nausori.

Police say she resides in Nadali and was taken in for questioning yesterday as investigations continue.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Dr, Ifereimi Waqainabete has confirmed that there is only one confirmed case of COVID-19 in Lautoka.

He says all other suspected cases have been tested and have returned negative.

Dr. Waqainabete also says that isolation and containment is absolutely critical to ensure that we prevent the spread of COVID-19, and people should stop creating unnecessary fear and panic.

Doctor Waqainabete says contact tracing has been done and there are no confirmed cases in Nausori and people should stop following all the misinformation on social media.
