A 27-year-old woman who was charged with allegedly being in possession of more than 3 kilograms of methamphetamine along Brown Street has been granted bail by the Suva Magistrates Court.

Luisa Cagi of Sabeto, Nadi is charged with one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs found in a car following a chase on Friday.

Police say the seized substances were sent for analysis and confirmed to be methamphetamine.

The magistrate has granted bail to Cagi with conditions of not to re-offend, not interfering with state witnesses, not changing her address, $1000 non cash bail with surety, sign-in at Sabeto Police Station every Saturday, inform the court on any change of address and a stop departure.

Police earlier stated that two men and another woman who were arrested have been released.

Divisional Police Commander South, Senior Superintendent of Police Wate Vocevoce, had earlier said that the four individuals were stopped at a roadblock in Vatuwaqa, where the driver allegedly failed to produce his driver's license and drove off.

SSP Vocevoce said the suspect’s vehicle was involved in an accident along Brown Street, where the team from Nabua searched the vehicle and found several small plastic bags containing white substances believed to be methamphetamine.
