Whitelock returns while Matera retains flanker position for Super Rugby Pacific final

Veteran lock Sam Whitelock returns to the starting line-up for the Crusaders after he was withdrawn in the last minute due to a thumb injury during their semi-final clash against the Chiefs.

Whitelock will partner with captain, Scott Barrett in the locks while Pablo Matera retains his openside flanker position after the SANZAAR Judicial Committee cleared him to play in the final.

Other players named in the starting 15s include George Bower, Codie Taylor, Tom Christie, Cullen Grace, Bryn Hall, Richie Mo'unga, Leicester Fainga'anuku, David Havili, Jack Goodhue, Sevu Reece and Will Jordan.

The Crusaders will meet the Blues 7.05pm Saturday at Eden Park in Auckland.
