A contingent of over 100 will be representing Fiji to the world’s largest celebration of Indigenous Pacific Islanders, at the 13th Festival of Pacific Arts and Culture (FestPAC) 2024 in Hawaii from June 6th-16th.

While presenting their iTatau at State House, President Ratu Wiliame Maivalili Katonivere reminded them that wherever we stand in the world, we stand out because of our culture.

President Wiliame says reflecting on these past 54 years since independence, one thing that has struck him is how the iTaukei people in Fiji have adapted and maintained their traditions and cultures adding this has been instrumental in shaping where we are today.

The President says he is thankful to witness how we compare with other islands and places in the world, as we remain uniquely Fiji.

He reminded the contingent that as they go forth, representing Fiji, carry our cultures and all that makes us unique.
