The Nausori Town Council would like to have the lease renewed for the Ratu Cakobau Park.

This was highlighted by Council CEO Anurashika Bari to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Accounts while answering a question by SODELPA MP Aseri Radrodro about the current status of Ratu Cakobau Park.

Bari highlighted that they have six years of lease left.

She further says they have already met and are working with the iTaukei Land Trust Board to follow the proper processes.

Radrodro then said that he hopes that the new lease arrangement will be favourable to everybody.

Bari also highlighted the Park sustained damages due to TC Yasa and Ana after which they received a prohibition notice.

She says Pavilion A will be opened soon after the repair works have been completed while they have managed to secure some funds to start the repair works for Pavilion B.

Bari adds hosting day time games is not an issue but night time will be an issue as the lights need fixing and this is an expensive exercise.
