We will not pressure parents or students – Akbar

We will not pressure parents or students – Akbar

Minister for Education Rosy Akbar

Minister for Education Rosy Akbar says they will not pressure parents and students on uniform, footwear and stationery as all they want is for students to return to school.

Akbar says she asks the parents not to pressure themselves as this is the time for them to rebuild their homes and lives.

She adds they also want the education for the students to continue.

Akbar says there is a lot of assistance that is being provided.

The Minister says they anticipate students in the Northern Division affected by TC Yasa to start coming to school by the 19th of this month.

Akbar says they have also noted a decrease in enrollment numbers.

She adds that they are working to ensure that schools start on the 18th of this month for teachers.
