FCCC CEO Senikavika Jiuta

The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission has welcomed the subsidies announced in the 2025/2026 National Budget, with CEO Senikavika Jiuta saying that this will cushion a few things for consumers, especially with the cost of living.

While speaking to fijivillage News, Jiuta says cost of living is a major concern for consumers and believes that this is a balanced budget.

She says as the regulator and consumer protection agency, their main task now is to police and monitor all this.

The CEO adds they attended the Post-Budget Breakfast this morning to work with private stakeholders.

Jiuta says they are working with FRCS and the Consumer Council of Fiji to monitor the price movement.

When asked how often surveys will be conducted to ensure that the right prices are passed to consumers, the FCCC CEO says that surveys will be conducted weekly.

She says the taskforce is going to meet every month.
