The Special Administrator of the Nausori Town Council Uma Kant Patel is calling for more police presence in Nausori Town since drunkards are becoming a nuisance to members of the public.

He says they continuously have meetings with the Police, stakeholders and the Commissioner Central’s Office in regard to issues faced in town.

Patel says the crime rate in Nausori has dropped but not significantly, as drunk people are still seen in town.

He adds the Government’s decision to close nightclubs at 1am might reduce the crime rate, but there is a need for more police presence.

Patel say that more developments happening in the Nausori Business Area means that more people will visit the town which will result in the need for more protection and safety for members of the public.
