‘We don’t fear them’: Blitzboks ready for must-win clash with SVNS leaders

David Brits insists South Africa “don’t fear” HSBC SVNS Series leaders Argentina after the teams were drawn into the same pool of death for this weekend’s event in Singapore.

Great Britain are the other side in Pool A, but only one of these teams can progress through to the semi-finals.

The Blitzboks are eager to bounce back in Singapore after a ninth-place finish at Kai Tak Stadium on Sunday.

Brits says he prefers this format, to be honest – playing only four games is far less taxing on their legs, but that is just his preference.

France is in Pool B with Ireland and Kenya, while Australia, Spain and Uruguay are in Pool C.

The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side are pooled alongside New Zealand and the USA.

They are currently in second place with 76 points in the overall Men’s World 7s Series standings.

Argentina, who won the Hong Kong 7s title, currently leads the points table with 88 points.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s are in Pool D with France and Ireland.

The Singapore 7s will be held this Saturday and Sunday.
