Deputy Prime Minister & Minister for Finance, Prof Biman Prasad.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad says we are about 10 years late to come out with a comprehensive National Counter Narcotics Strategy that will deal with the fundamental problem that we have had for many years.

Professor Prasad says he will also ensure that the programs are well funded through the National Budget and through our development partners mainly Australia, New Zealand and the US.

Professor Prasad says we need the support of the development partners for areas like maritime surveillance as we need a well thought out, closely knit and deeply integrated partnership.

He also says we need to tackle the issue of corruption in different agencies.
