Fiji Labour Party Leader, Mahendra Chaudhry

Fiji Labour Party Leader, Mahendra Chaudhry says it is disturbing that the FijiFirst Leader, Voreqe Bainimarama should use words such as “stabbing, murder and blood spilled on our land and unlawful entering of properties will happen” in his address at a Syria Park rally in Nausori.

Bainimarama had alleged that political parties were saying that they will restore ownership of land sold during colonial times.

Chaudhry says he has not heard any political party making such claims.

He adds that this is a clear and blatant call to incitement and he is calling on the authorities to investigate the FijiFirst Leader under the electoral laws and the Public Order Act.

Chaudhry also says that Bainimarama was wrong in labelling Labour as an Indian party.

He says that Labour has always been a multi racial party since its formation in 1985.

The FLP Leader adds that Bainimarama should know better and is reminding him the Labour Party won government two times as a multi-racial party, in 1987 and 1999.
