As the fight against drugs continues in the country with the latest 12kg cocaine find in the west, Assistant Commissioner of Police for Crime, Mesake Waqa says they are trying hard to deal with organised crime, the proceeds of crime, and getting to the bottom of the key individuals involved in the multi billion dollar drug syndicate.

Following the $2 billion methamphetamine bust in Nadi, ACP Waqa said to fijivillage News that they had received information regarding allegations against some people from certain pharmaceutical companies, a fumigation company, some prominent figures including businesspeople and some officials.

ACP Waqa says they are focusing on the money and asset trail, and proceeds of crime.

When questioned by fijivillage News on what the Police are doing in getting to the key players in the drug ring as there are claims that only those lower down the line are getting charged while some businesspeople and even some politicians and those in authority who may be calling the shots are walking around freely, ACP Waqa says all issues are being looked at.

Meanwhile, 4 people are still being questioned in relation to the 12kg cocaine find in Lautoka last week.
