Waratahs coach Dan McKellar has spoken highly of former Wallabies backrower and Fijian number 8 Langi Gleeson following his stellar performance in their 29-24 win over the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua in round 3 of the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific last Friday.

The 23-year-old started at number 8 for the Waratahs last Friday and scored two tries against the Drua.

Gleeson made 11 runs in the match gaining 33 metres and completing 8 tackles.

McKellar says Gleeson is a leader through his actions and is a quietly spoken young man.

Waratahs currently sits in 5th place in the overall Super Rugby Pacific standings with 8 points after securing 2 wins out of 2 games so far.

They will now turn their focus to the Western Force.

The Waratahs will play the Force at 8.35pm this Saturday at Allianz Stadium.

Meanwhile, the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua will take on the Chiefs at 3.35pm this Saturday in Lautoka.

In other matches this week, the Blues will host the Brumbies at 6.35pm Friday, Moana Pasifika will take on the Hurricanes at 6.05pm Saturday, and the Crusaders will host the Reds at 2.35pm Sunday.
