Prime Minister and Leader of the People’s Alliance, Sitiveni Rabuka confirms that the party’s General Secretary, Usaia Waqatairewa has resigned from his post.

Rabuka has confirmed to fijivillage News that he wanted to move for Waqatairewa’s removal in this week’s party Management Committee meeting.

However Rabuka says when Waqatairewa saw this in their party communication, he decided to resign from the position.

When questioned on why Rabuka wanted to move for Waqatairewa’s removal in the meeting this week, he only said that it was because of inefficiency.

Rabuka also says he wants current Deputy General Secretary, Sila Balawa to be the party’s General Secretary.

When fijivillage News contacted Waqatairewa, he referred all questions to Rabuka.
