The Fiji Roads Authority are working on the completion of the Waidalice Bridge on Kings Road, Korovou, and Vuniyasi Bridge near Nadi.

They say the Waidalice Bridge works will be completed by early 2025 and the Vuniyasi Bridge works will be completed by next month.

FRA says this is to build resilient infrastructure that improves access to essential services and facilities.

They say these improvements will continue to bring economic and socio-economic advancements in addition to making our infrastructure resilient.

The Authority further says that these projects have engaged close to 200 local staff, and most of the materials were sourced from local hardware and suppliers apart from the steel girders that were procured from East Bridge, New Zealand.

In the Central and Western Division, a total of 526 roads were completed as part of the Rip and Remake program last year including the Bulu Bridge near Sigatoka, Korovou Bridge on Kings Road, Tavua, Matewale Bridge in Keyasi, Tavualevu Bridge, Tavua, Velovelo Bridge near Lautoka and Yaqara Bridge, on Kings Road, Rakiraki and Wainawi Bridge on Kings Road Nausori.

FRA says these roads spanned approximately 300 kilometres in length, constructed by the Highway Stabilizers (Fiji) Pte Limited, Flame Tree Developments (Fiji) Ltd, and Hot Spring Hire Services Limited.
