As hundreds of mothers at the CWM Maternity Ward were left without access to clean drinking water this morning following a water disruption, Wai Fiji donated several days’ worth of drinking water to support pre and postnatal mothers during this challenging time.

Wai Fiji CEO Arnold Chanel says when they heard about the situation, they couldn’t stand by as no mother or baby should endure such hardship.

He says ensuring they have access to clean, safe drinking water is their way of showing that they care.

Chanel says these mothers are raising the future of our nation, and they deserve all the support we can offer.

He also called for a collective approach to addressing such challenges because as a community, it is our duty to come together and respond to crises like this, particularly when the well-being of mothers and newborns is at stake.

He also pledged ongoing support, ensuring that Wai Fiji would continue to assist mothers in need at the maternity ward.

He says this initiative reinforces Wai Fiji’s commitment to standing by its community in times of crisis, helping to make a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most.

Meanwhile water supply was restored to the hospital earlier today.
