Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem says from the statistics they have so far, pre-poll turnout has not surpassed 70% at any of the venues.

While providing a pre-poll update this afternoon, Saneem says the turnout during pre-poll is not very good.

Saneem says as at 3pm today, they can confirm that the pre-poll voter turn out for Day 1 stands at 66.2% for 149 venues.

He further says for Day 2, the turn out was 69.1% for 141 venues with 2 more venues left, Day 3 percentage currently stands at 65.8% for 115 venues which excludes 19 pre-poll venues while Day 4 stats are 68.19% for 81 venues excluding 35 venues.

The SOE says with Election Day on Wednesday, it is now becoming more necessary than ever for them to find more initiatives to enhance voter turnout.

Saneem adds that if a person has missed out on pre-poll, they cannot vote next Wednesday.
