Vodafone Fiji Cup tournament returns after 3-years

Basketball fans can expect an exciting competition this weekend following the launch of the Vodafone Fiji Cup today at the Vodafone Headquarters.

Speaking to fijivillage News, Interim Chief Operating Officer William Peter says this is a premier basketball trophy in Fiji and were last played three years ago due to the accessibility of venues.

A total of 16 teams have confirmed their participation, with eight men's teams and eight women's teams.

The men's teams include Islanders(CBA), Boston(RBA), Mighty Mights, Mighty Sharks, Zodiac Roms, Kaunikuila All-Stars, Lights Out, and Totokia from Nadi.

The women's teams include Dynamic Redz, Phoenix Blazers, Zodiac Wyverns, Watikula Ballers, USP Islanders, Kaunikuila Aces, Tamaphine, and Mana from Lautoka.

Vodafone Sponsorship Manager Adriu Vakarau says they are proud to be the main sponsor of the three-day tournament.

The Vodafone Fiji Cup will take place from this Thursday to Saturday at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva.
