President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu has paid tribute to the late George FIJI Veikoso, describing him as a proud son of Fiji whose music touched hearts around the world.

While hosting close family and friends of Veikoso at the State House, Ratu Naiqama says Veikoso was a true cultural ambassador for Fiji where his voice carried not just melodies, but the spirit and pride of our nation.

The visit was filled with heartfelt exchange and talanoa with the President and First Lady Emily Lalabalavu, as the Veikoso family and friends presented gifts to thank the Head of State for hosting them.

Meanwhile, Fiji's most accomplished musician and the King of Island Reggae, George FIJI Veikoso was laid to rest at Lovonilase Cemetery in Suva on Tuesday.
