It is important that we understand who we are as Fijians, our identity and how we express ourselves on the rugby field.

This was highlighted by Swire Shipping Fijian Drua Head of Athletic Performance, Naca Cawanibuka during fijivillage Straight Talk with Vijay Narayan.

Cawanibuka says if you talk to any international coach, they would probably mention that one thing about the Fijians is physicality and that is how we do it.

But he says physicality comes at a price and that needs physical conditioning and that also includes being fit to be resilient and last the whole 80 minutes of a game.

Cawanibuka says we should not be forgetting that most of these players have come through a lot of great coaches in their time.

He adds if they can get all these disciplines right, the talent will take care of itself.

Cawanibuka is part of the Fiji Water Flying Fijians coaching staff for the upcoming Pacific Nations Cup which will begin this weekend and also for the upcoming Rugby World Cup in France.

You can watch the full Straight Talk interview below.

The Flying Fijians will take on Tonga in round 1 of the PNC at 3pm Saturday in Churchill Park.
