USA currently leads medal tally as Paris Olympics head into day 9

The United States of America has climbed to the top of the 2024 Paris Olympics medal tally as the competition is in its 9th day of competition.

The USA have 19 gold, 26 silver and 26 bronze followed by China with 19 gold, 15 silver and 11 bronze.

Hosts France are currently in third place with 12 gold, 14 silver and 18 bronze while Australia is in fourth place with 12 gold as well, 11 silver and 8 bronze.

Events that will be held later today include the 400m Men’s hurdles heats, 400m Women’s hurdles repechage round, Men’s discus throw qualification, Women’s pole vault qualification, Women’s 400m heats and Women’s 200m repechage round in athletics.

In sailing, there will be women’s kite, mixed multihull, women’s dinghy and men’s kite, and in table tennis, there will be Men’s and Women’s round of 16 matches.
