The United Nations stands ready to support the new government to realize their sustainable tourism goals.

This was highlighted by the UN Resident Coordinator to Fiji, Sanaka Samarasinha in a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism Viliame Gavoka.

Samarasinha agreed to jointly convene a discussion on sustainable and inclusive tourism strategies in support of Fiji’s tourism priorities.

Samarasinha adds sustainable tourism which promotes stronger partnership between the private sector and local communities and that benefits Fiji as a whole, is crucial.

As well as support to inclusive, sustainable, eco-friendly tourism, the UN has also committed to supporting Fiji’s aviation industry priorities.
