JSC meeting Waqanika again

The Judicial Services Commission is currently meeting former FICAC Commissioner Barbara Malimali’s lawyer, Tanya Waqanika.

It is unclear what's the agenda of the meeting.

JSC Chair and Chief Justice Salesi Temo, along with members including Fiji Council of Social Services Executive Director Vani Catanasiga and Permanent Secretary for Justice Selina Kuruleca, have formed the quorum for this meeting.

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka’s lawyer was also expected to be part of the meeting.

Meanwhile, the JSC had decided last week to wait for the outcome of the appeal filed by Rabuka against the High Court’s decision regarding Malimali’s dismissal, as well as High Court Judge Justice Siainiu Fa’alogo Bull’s ruling on former Deputy Prime Ministers Manoa Kamikamica and Professor Biman Prasad, and Waqanika’s stay applications, where they have challenged the legality of Lavi Rokoika’s appointment as Acting FICAC Commissioner.
