Two 33-year-old men from Natokamu Settlement in Labasa will front court today for their alleged involvement in the assault of a youth in a sugar cane farm in Labasa.
Both men have been charged with two counts of assault causing actual bodily harm.
The Acting Commissioner of Police, Aporosa Lutunauga, says the incident should be a warning to all those who usually want to take the law into their own hands.
He says we are now into the festive season and many will be involved in festivities.
Lutunauga further says if a heated situation arises, he hopes that common sense will prevail.
The two will appear in the Labasa Magistrates Court today.
