Two 16-year-old boys are among the seven people charged with rape in two separate incidents in the month of August this year.

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions says a 16-year-old boy was charged with the rape of two 8-year-old boys while in another incident a 16-year-old boy was charged with the rape and sexual assault of an 8-year-old girl.

The DPP’s Office says a 22-year-old man was charged with the rape and sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl. The accused and the victim were neighbours.

In another incident, a 25-year-old man was charged with the rape of a 16-year-old girl. The victim was drunk at the time of the incident.

There was one incident where a 23-year-old man was charged with the rape of a 24-year-old woman. The victim was attacked at a driveway and rendered unconscious before the accused allegedly raped her.

A 34-year-old man was also charged with the indecent assault of his 23-year-old de facto partner.

There were seven people charged with a total of 14 counts of separate incidents in August.

There were 8 cases of rape, 1 case of indecent assault and 5 cases of sexual assault. Five of the eight victims were under the age of 18 years. Six were females and two were males.

There was one incident where the victim and the accused were related to one another.
