The most decorated 7s player in the world who has won two Olympic gold medals, several HSBC 7s tournaments and now the Rugby World Cup 7s, Jerry Tuwai has thanked the people of Fiji for their support, prayers and love.

While speaking at the official celebrations at the HFC Bank Stadium, Tuwai apologised for the team’s performance through the series, as they did not win a few cups along the way and he also asked for forgiveness.

He also promised that they will do their best in the upcoming season and thanked everyone for believing in them.

Tuwai thanked God for the opportunity, the strength and the glory that he has bestowed on Fiji.

Coach Ben Gollings says his work is made much easier by the incredible athletes that he gets to coach on a daily basis.

He says the preparation, hard work, commitment, discipline and sacrifices that they make on a daily basis to produce results like this is incredible.
