Tuwai makes final extended training squad for Olympics

Two-time Olympic Gold medallist Jerry Tuwai has been named in the 20 member extended training squad for the Fiji 7s team to the Paris Olympics 2024.

Swire Shipping Fijian Drua players Selestino Ravutaumada and Tokyo Olympics gold medallist Iosefo Masi also made the 20.

Other names in the team include Joseva Talacolo, Kaminieli Rasaku, Josese Batirerega, Joji Nasova, Filipe Sauturaga, Terio Tamani, Jeremaia Matana, Waisea Nacuqu, Sevuloni Mocenacagi, Ponipate Loganimasi, Josaia Raisuqe, Vuiviwa Naduvalo, Suliano Volivolituevei, Pilipo Bukayaro, Sakiusa Siqila, Iowane Teba, and Ilikimi Vunaki.

Not making the 20 member squad are Vatemo Ravouvou, Napolioni Bolaca and Manueli Maisamoa.

Coach Osea Kolinisau had told fijivillage News earlier today that the team will eventually be reduced to 15 for the Olympics.

The Olympics Rugby 7s will be held from the 25th to the 31st of July 2024.
