Two time Olympic gold medalist Jerry Tuwai and newcomer Filipo Bukayaro

Two time Olympic gold medalist Jerry Tuwai and newcomer Filipo Bukayaro are expected to share the play making duties as the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side return to the international stage tomorrow.

Tuwai will be playing in the World 7s Series for the first time since the Vancouver 7s, more than 2 years ago while Bukayaro will be making his debut after shining in recent local 7s tournaments.

Coach Ben Gollings says Tuwai is an asset and he hopes Bukayaro takes this opportunity with open arms.

Gollings says he has a pretty good idea of the starting 7 however he will look to manipulate this based on who they are playing.

He says overall the players are really excited to take the field which is fantastic.

Fiji will meet Ireland in their first match of the Singapore 7s at 2.22pm tomorrow.

They will then face France at 5.06pm tomorrow in their second match and play Japan at 8.22pm tomorrow in their final pool match.

You can catch the live commentaries of all of Fiji’s games on our sister station, Viti FM.
