Through difficulties and challenges faced during childhood when his mum was bedridden with sickness and his father was still going in and out of prison, Peni Tupou, a new local artist for the Domo Vou Talei Competition shares what he came through in his new song named Kidava.

Tupou who is also known as Ju Ben says this is a way for him to step out of his comfort zone and share his story with youths facing the same challenges.

Tupou says youths nowadays get carried away with other things that do not matter in life.

The artist who hails from Lomainasau is aiming to collaborate with other local artists to help in elevating the music industry in Fiji.

The music videos of all ten finalists are currently being recorded by CFL’s Magic Factory and will be uploaded on fijivillage at 6pm this Friday.

To vote for the Westpac People’s Choice Award, fans will have to like and share the videos on their social media platforms and the music video that has the highest engagement will walk away with $3,000.

The announcement of the winner will be done next Saturday.

The Fiji Times Grand Prize Award of $5,000 will be announced at the Woodstock Uprising Music Festival next Saturday.
