Agape Healing Church Ministry Pastor Waisake Tulavu

High Court Judge Justice, Daniel Goundar will sum up the trial of Agape Healing Church Ministry Pastor, Waisake Tulavu on Tuesday.

Tulavu is accused of raping two women and sexually assaulting another woman on five different occasions which were between 11th May to 15th September 2018.

Prosecution lawyer, Unaisi Tamanikaiyaroi closed their case saying Tulavu is not a man of God and he has betrayed the trust of the three women who believed in him and in the word of God.

She says the reason why the three alleged victims stayed back was because they believed in the pastor and they were desperate to be healed.

Tamanikaiyaroi told the court that all the alleged victims had a need and they believed in Tulavu because of the title he had at the Agape Healing Church Ministry.

She told the court that Tulavu knew that he would be able to rape and sexually assault the alleged victims when he called them to Cunningham.

Tamanikaiyaroi told the assessors that after raping the second victim, Tulavu asked her if she would be able to forgive the pastor for what he had done. She says this is not a man of God.

While making their closing submission, defence lawyer, Sokoveti Daunivesi told the three assessors that all the alleged victims had the personal instinct that what was being done to them by Tulavu was wrong but they continued to let him do it.

She says the first two alleged victims who have been allegedly raped had the option to leave the church the next day but they continued to stay there.

Daunivesi says the third alleged victim who was allegedly sexually assaulted reported the matter to the police after five days which clearly depicts that the incident did not happen.
