Traffic lights and street lights to be shut off in greater Suva

The Fiji Roads Authority will be shutting down all traffic lights and streetlights in the greater Suva area during the Easter weekend.

Maintenance Works Manager Aram Goes says they are doing this to avoid confusion to the road users and protect the traffic lights circuitry.

Goes says the traffic lights intersection will be controlled by signs and cones and the traffic Police marshals will assist the public throughout this period.

Goes is urging motorists and pedestrians to exercise extreme caution on the roads, slow down, be courteous and obey all traffic directions.

Meanwhile, FEA has confirmed that they are yet to begin work at the Main Inlet Valve at the Wailoa Power Station as it is scheduled to start tonight.
