In a bid to promote sustainable tourism, Tourism Fiji has partnered with Solar Hub Fiji through the adoption of solar technologies.

The two organisations sealed the deal with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) yesterday.

Solar Hub Fiji has generously sponsored the installation of state-of-the-art solar chargers at Tourism Fiji’s head office as a first step to the partnership with Tourism Fiji unveiling its inaugural fleet of electric vehicles (EVs) last week.

Tourism Fiji CEO Brent Hill says they are thrilled to join forces with Solar Hub Fiji in this pioneering venture.

He says Tourism Fiji is delighted to promote Solar Hub's products and services to our stakeholders, which includes tourism businesses, resorts, hotels, suppliers, and other related partners.

Hill adds by featuring case studies and success stories involving Solar Hub's contribution to sustainable practices, Tourism Fiji aims to inspire and educate industry players about the benefits and feasibility of adopting solar energy.

Managing Director of Solar Hub Fiji Yogesh Chand says as stewards of our paradise, they stand united in their commitment to propel Fiji towards a brighter, eco-conscious era.

Chand says partnering with Tourism Fiji gives them the opportunity to contribute positively to the local community and the environment, while also showcasing the potential of renewable energy in supporting key industries.

Through this partnership, Tourism Fiji and Solar Hub are working to enhance sustainable tourism through a range of initiatives which include educational workshops and campaigns, exchange of knowledge and research on solar technology and sustainable tourism, and collaborative marketing efforts to underscore the advantages of solar adoption or sustainable tourism practices.
