Fiji crowned Toulouse 7s champions beating Ireland 29-17 in the Cup Final

The Fiji Airways Men’s 7s team has won the Toulouse 7s with a 5 try blitz beating Ireland 29-17 in the Cup Final early this morning.

Elia Canakaivata and Tevita Daugunu were outstanding in defence as Fiji applied good pressure with big hits to force mistakes and handling errors for Ireland.

Napolioni Bolaca got his first start of the tournament where he played the entire 14 minutes of the final and scored a try and assisted in setting up 2 tries.

Other try scorers included Tevita Daugunu, Josua Vakurunabili, Elia Canakaivata and Kaminieli Rasaku.

Waisea Nacuqu scooped the Player of the Final award after an impressive display in the final.

Fiji remains in 5th place on the HSBC World Sevens Series standings with 87 points.

The team will now travel to England for the London 7s this weekend.
