This year’s Shangri-La Yanuca Island, McDonald’s Fiji's Coral Coast 7s ‘Na Iri’ competition will be an exciting one with some top women’s 7s teams from around the Pacific making their appearance in the tournament including the NZ Black Fern’s shadow side which will be called the Matakesi.

The side will be participating in this tournament for the first time and will be looking to make an impact and also take home the ‘Na Iri’ trophy.

But the challenge will be coming in from the Mount Masada 7s side, which is the Fijiana 7s shadow team and also the Manly Mermaids from Australia who are also eyeing the top prize.

Other international teams that will be participating in the ‘Na Iri’ trophy competition this year include the Vanuatu national women's 7s team who are looking to expose their 7s players here in Fiji and also the Pacific Nomads side which will comprise players based in the regional NSW.

The ‘Na Iri’ trophy winners will walk away with $15,000 this year.

The 2024 McDonald’s Fiji’s Coral Coast 7s will be held from next Thursday to Saturday at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.

The entry fee for the 3-day tournament will be free of charge.
