Tikowale believes her daughter will live a normal life after surgery at the Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Heart Hospital

Nanette Tikowale believes her 5 months old Zemira Raphaella will now live a normal life after a life saving surgery at the Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Heart Hospital.

Tikowale who lives in Tacirua says it was heartbreaking to know that her child was diagnosed with heart issues.

She says she is thankful that the operation was successful.

Tikowale acknowledged the services provided for free by the doctors and staff at the Hospital.

Meanwhile, 7-month-old Paka Mateitalo is the first child from Tuvalu to receive free surgery at the Heart Hospital.

His mother Peleseini Mateitalo who is currently a student at the University of the South Pacific says she was so happy that her son managed to be given a new lease of life after the successful heart surgery conducted by the hardworking team from Singapore and the local staff at Sai Prema.

CWM Hospital’s Head of Paediatrics, Doctor Ilisapeci Vereti thanked the team at Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital for their great effort in providing free and great services to the future generation of the Pacific.

Doctor Vereti also thanked the Ministry of Health for working together with the Sai Prema Hospital towards successful life-saving surgery for young children.
