National Federation Party MP and Minister for Defence and National Security, Pio Tikoduadua

National Federation Party MP and Minister for Defence and National Security, Pio Tikoduadua is calling for more iTaukei to participate in the Party and recognise the values it stands for, as iTaukei votes are slowly and surely becoming an increasingly important and essential element of the Party's growth.

While speaking at the NFP Working Committee Meeting at Ba Sangam College, Tikoduadua says that what it does is bring the multiracial dimension in a bigger way, particularly by understanding the Party’s history over its 62 years of life to date.

He says some iTaukei chiefs were part of the formation of the Party as they were people who stood for principles and stood really tall and firm.

He adds they were not afraid to speak the truth and relay the truth because the truth is not always easy to relay.

Tikoduadua says many people try to avoid the truth because the truth sometimes makes people feel awkward.

Tikoduadua says NFP is best known for following the rule of law, and they fight and stand for the rule of law.

He also acknowledge the work being done by NFP members who are in Parliament and Cabinet including Party Leader, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Professor Biman Prasad, Sashi Kiran, who is the Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, Lenora Qereqeretabua, who is the Deputy Speaker and Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Agni Deo Singh, who is the Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations.
