Minister for Home Affairs and Immigration Pio Tikoduadua

Minister for Home Affairs and Immigration Pio Tikoduadua has assured all Fijians that besides the ongoing work that the Fiji Police Force do in the ordinary in the course of their duties, the general law and order situation in Fiji is normal.

While speaking in a press conference yesterday afternoon, Tikoduadua says the citizens of this country are doing their work peacefully and if any citizen is aggrieved, they can be assured that law enforcement will deal with them faithfully and fairly.

He says if a citizen is arrested, they are guaranteed all the rights that the Constitution gives them, they will be treated fairly and humanely and most importantly, in respect to the law.

Tikoduadua says he believes in Fiji’s democracy and the rule of law is paramount.

He adds any threats to that will be dealt with swiftly and with the full force of Fiji’s Law Enforcement Agencies.

The Minister says anyone, whether their position is high or low is equal in the face of the law and he trusts that the Fiji Police Force will hold true to its duties on those matters.
